Not Plushied Plushie

Soooo, I decided to make a plushie turtle for my baby niece.  I was totally excited because one day, after playing around in my sewing and remnants box, I realized that all of the wonderful prints that I have are perfect for baby items.  She just loved the blue flower pattern that is this turtle's right arm.
At first, I was going to hand sew it all, but decided that my stitches might not be secure enough to have an infant playing with and sucking on with out having the stuffing come out.
I sewed this all in one sitting because I was super gung-ho about getting it done.  And I also didn't even stop to think about how I was going to sew the turtle shell on!!   I did it totally wrong lol.
Meaning to sew it and then turn it inside out, to have the shell be a kind of disc, I sewed the inside on the outside and the leg all jacked up.
Needless to say, I got way frustrated with this project after realizing what I had done and have put it to the side for now.
Seam ripper is in close proximity and will be handled later =)

Crocheted Shapes Wall Hanging

Hey guys!  I hope you all didn't think I made like a rotten banana and split 8-l

Problems just isn't the word for what technology and I have been going through, but, alas, I have access to a working computer again and can post.

I did my wall hanging as a gift to my neice, who is 4 months now.  It's currently hanging next to her crib.

Photobucket
If I keep having reasons to make her things like this, I'm sure she's going to be an abstract thinker when she grows up.

My idea was to make basic shapes for her to look at that weren't crazy bright like all  her toys.  I took a picture frame that I had around and covered it with pieces of an old shirt that was retired to the scraps & recycling bin, and then covered that with a scrap piece of fabric from my box.  Tiny twisty ribbons for trunks, and a tiny yellow ribbon for hanging
:)

My niece will be getting a plushie soon too.  Can't wait to share that!

How to Draw Chibi's

It's not every day that I learn a new word in the field of drawing. Thanks. Make sure you watch the smaller format because the bigger one doesn't have sound.

Amethysta

Amethysta what is our theme for March?

Needle Punch Wall Hangings

I turned some of my needle punch art into wall hangings. I carefully pinned them to foam core and hung them from ribbons. Then I listed them on Etsy.  I also photographed them for my Zazzle shop, so that they'd be affordable to everyone.

My 'wall hanging' and snood...?

I made a Snood. really I did. It was purple and too small for my head, but it was purple. and then I lost it :( Not sure what happened, I made it at the end of January and then my new roomates moved in and half the house got reshuffled and now it's gone. If I ever find it I'll post it :)

as for my wall hanging :) I had a little bit of trouble thinking of something to make for this theme so I just did another painting, It's going to hang in my bedroom whenever I get my hubby to hang it for me (i'm too short lol ) I think it's a tad boring, but it was fun to make:

and yeah lol that's my dirty dishes off to the side ^^;

I hope everyone had a wonderful January! I made my Wall hanging earlier but haven't taken pictures yet. Story of my Life right :P any who It didn't turn out how I wanted it to and it made me sad. I cut it all out of Felt and got it set up added craft glue to hold it in place and started stitching around the piece, got tired and went to bed woke in the morning only to find out that the craft glue I used is too thick to stitch through *sad face* will be posting a picture soon promise!
As always

January Snood

Hey!
Can you believe it? I have my January theme done.  It's been done for a while and I've been wearing it around like it's goin out of style, but haven't taken pictures of it until now.

I found this yarn on sale and decided to try it for this project because it didn't require lots of stitches.  I was afraid hat the 'boulce-ness' of the yarn would confuse me to no end, but I totally dig it and have gotten many compliments on the snood!

Sorry I'm late!

I'm sorry! I was out of town for a large portion of December, and for New Years, so I'm gonna Post December's Item today!

For my 'Items to share' theme, I did 10 mini-paintings for my family! Each painting is about 2"x2" and painted with acrylic paints. Since I couldn't really afford to buy my extended family any gifts this year (and since I was going out of town to meet them) I figured something personal was much more fun!

And before you ask: that one painting? yeah, you know which one...that's NOT blood...It's Ketchup...You'd really have to know my brother to understand :)

Oh, and I was also thinking I would show you guys my Christmas tree this year! the part of my family that I spent Christmas Day with didn't have a tree. So on Christmas Eve, I grabbed a tree branch, and whatever I could find around the house, and made a tree for them! the poor thing was so tiny, just one of my ornaments was so heavy it bent the 'tree' in half.

And here's a closeup of the ornaments I made too! They're chenille stems and beads

"Snood"

I tried!I really did
I should have picked a better color >.< my Hubie and his friend thought it was a "hair net" well i mean kinda but I'm not working with food right now. :(

We Need a New Banner

If anyone wants to make it and email it to me so I can post it that's great.  If not we'll look at the plain banner.  I took mine down...I'd grown tired of it. It should say Zombie Nanner Gang and have some sort of zombie banana art on it.

February and June's themes

Hello Folks,

I didn't want to let my turn zoom on by again, so I'm posting the themes for the next couple of months that will fall on me.
For February, I'd like us to create wall hangings.  I don't know about your dwelling, but when I look at my walls, they seem super bare and I find that 4 year old part of me who who scribbled on the walls to make them pretty just screaming in my ear.
Your wall hanging can be as simple as making something and putting it in a shadow box frame, or creating a piece of artwork, to an intricate beaded or sequined mosaic.  As large or small and having to do with whatever suites your fancy (or home decor).

For June, let's create market/beach bags.  I'm sure that the summer will entice us to go out a bit more whether it be for more frequent strolls about, to the beach, or farmer's market.  Sew, crochet, knit, or repurpose this one!

Have fun!
