Soooo, I decided to make a plushie turtle for my baby niece. I was totally excited because one day, after playing around in my sewing and remnants box, I realized that all of the wonderful prints that I have are perfect for baby items. She just loved the blue flower pattern that is this turtle's right arm.
At first, I was going to hand sew it all, but decided that my stitches might not be secure enough to have an infant playing with and sucking on with out having the stuffing come out.
I sewed this all in one sitting because I was super gung-ho about getting it done. And I also didn't even stop to think about how I was going to sew the turtle shell on!! I did it totally wrong lol.
Meaning to sew it and then turn it inside out, to have the shell be a kind of disc, I sewed the inside on the outside and the leg all jacked up.
Needless to say, I got way frustrated with this project after realizing what I had done and have put it to the side for now.
Seam ripper is in close proximity and will be handled later =)
The best part about giving gifts to babies is they don't judge you on how good of a job you did. I think its cute you could totally stuff the body and finish the stitch.
