Work in Progress Wednesday

I miss the Zombie Nanner Gang. Sometimes I wonder if I should try to recruit new artists for it so we can all inspire each other. Or if any of the original members are interested in giving it another go.

So I thought I'd post some of the things I'm working on. Which is a ton of things. I have five Etsy shops that I want to fill before Christmas.

Burning House Art Studio is where I throw pots.

Not Plushied Plushie

Soooo, I decided to make a plushie turtle for my baby niece.  I was totally excited because one day, after playing around in my sewing and remnants box, I realized that all of the wonderful prints that I have are perfect for baby items.  She just loved the blue flower pattern that is this turtle's right arm.
At first, I was going to hand sew it all, but decided that my stitches might not be secure enough to have an infant playing with and sucking on with out having the stuffing come out.
I sewed this all in one sitting because I was super gung-ho about getting it done.  And I also didn't even stop to think about how I was going to sew the turtle shell on!!   I did it totally wrong lol.
Meaning to sew it and then turn it inside out, to have the shell be a kind of disc, I sewed the inside on the outside and the leg all jacked up.
Needless to say, I got way frustrated with this project after realizing what I had done and have put it to the side for now.
Seam ripper is in close proximity and will be handled later =)

Crocheted Shapes Wall Hanging

Hey guys!  I hope you all didn't think I made like a rotten banana and split 8-l

Problems just isn't the word for what technology and I have been going through, but, alas, I have access to a working computer again and can post.

I did my wall hanging as a gift to my neice, who is 4 months now.  It's currently hanging next to her crib.

If I keep having reasons to make her things like this, I'm sure she's going to be an abstract thinker when she grows up.

My idea was to make basic shapes for her to look at that weren't crazy bright like all  her toys.  I took a picture frame that I had around and covered it with pieces of an old shirt that was retired to the scraps & recycling bin, and then covered that with a scrap piece of fabric from my box.  Tiny twisty ribbons for trunks, and a tiny yellow ribbon for hanging
:)

My niece will be getting a plushie soon too.  Can't wait to share that!
